State you live in  Washington

How many marathons / ultra marathons have you run?  20+

What was the first marathon you ever ran? What year did you run it? Did you have fun that day?  1993 California International Marathon in Sacramento.  Happens to also be the most recent marathon I’ve run (12/2/07).  Is becoming delirious and seeing visions of dead people fun?  Then yes, buy golly, it was a hoot.

How long have you been a runner and why did you start running?  Started running on October 18, 1992 the day after I quit smoking.

Why did you decide to become a Maniac? Or what inspired you?  The overwhelming need for another singlet.

Of all the races out there in this world, which one would you most like to run?  Great Wall of China Marathon while spewing Communist rhetoric.

If you could run a marathon / ultra accompanied by anyone either living or deceased, who would you choose and why?  Lincoln, but only because I think I could beat him

What was you most memorable marathon and why?  New York in 2001.  Two  months after 9/11.  Policeman and fireman were all out cheering, but we cheered louder for them.

If someone asked you to pick a race for him or her that they could run a PR at, which race would you suggest?  The “Run down the side of the Grand Canyon” marathon.  Net downhill.

What was the furthest you’ve ever traveled for a race?  Hmmm….6 hours by air.
