What was the first race you ever ran? (Any distance)
10k, Oak Mountain State Park, AL

What was the first marathon you ever ran? What year did you run it? Did you have fun that day? 
2007 Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon, it was around 42 degrees that day, but it was still fun

How long have you been a runner and why did you start running?
Off and on since High School (12years) I run for the challenge

Why did you decide to become a Maniac? Or what inspired you?
The level (or frequency) of competition required to be a maniac

Of all the races out there in this world, which one would you most like to run?
Boston Marathon, Western States 100, I have already ran a qualifying race for WS100

If you could run a marathon / ultra accompanied by anyone either living or deceased, who would you choose and why? 
Never thought of it I love the solitude of running

What was you most memorable marathon and why? 
It was an ultra and I had made a jump from 10K’s to a 50K without really training for it and I came in 8th overall

If someone asked you to pick a race for him or her that they could run a PR at, which race would you suggest?
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon, its is flat and a small race

What was the furthest you’ve ever traveled for a race? 
1600 miles

Do any of your non-running friends or family members think that you’re crazy for running as much as you do? What are some of their comments to you? 
I am amazed that a person can run that far and live (100k)

If personal obligations or finances were not an issue, how many marathons would you run in one year?
One every 3 to 4 weeks

From what race did you receive your favorite finishers medal?
Javelina Jundred 100k

Where do you keep your finisher medals?
I have a shelf/coat rack that I bought from a hobby store.  The medals hang from the posts and the buckles and plaques sit on the shelf

 Do you wear your race t-shirts? What do you do with the ones you don’t wear? 
Only if they are dryfit, my wife is turning the cotton ones into a quilt someday

If you could put on a marathon anywhere in the world, where would you have it?
Its already done , Grandma’s Marathon in my hometown; Duluth MN

What is your favorite pre race meal? Post race meal?
 Pre race/Gel Post race/steak

What is your energy gel of choice? Sport drink of choice? 
Hammer Gel/Heed

Which race would you never run again and why?
Javelina Jundred, too rocky

What was the most challenging race or combination of races you’ve ever done and why?
Lean Horse 100, 33 miles uphill 17 flat, turn around and do it again

What is a typical training week like for you? How many miles do you run? Any cross training?  
60-70 miles, swim twice a week and plyometrics

What kind of shoes do you train in? Do you race in a different shoe? 
Mizuno if it’s a road race, Salomon if it’s a trail run

Get under 3:00
