How many marathons / ultra marathons have you run? 13 marathons / no ultras yet
What was the first race you ever ran? (Any distance) I ran the mile in high school
What was the first marathon you ever ran? What year did you run it? Did you have fun that day?
The first marathon I ran was the Seafair Marathon in 2006. Sure, I was surprised to qualify for Boston in my first marathon. However, I ran a 12 minute mile on the last mile and that stunk.
How long have you been a runner and why did you start running? I have 5 kids and needed a hobby
Why did you decide to become a Maniac? Or what inspired you? Mike W. inspired me and I can’t think of a better group of encouragers to be a part of.
Of all the races out there in this world, which one would you most like to run? The Tahoe triple
If you could run a marathon / ultra accompanied by anyone either living or deceased, who would you choose and why? I would love to run a marathon with one of my kids.
What was you most memorable marathon and why? Boston, because the whole experience starts the second you step on the plane. Everyone has their Runner’s World and the conversations are endless. Everyone is excited about running. It was over too quick
If someone asked you to pick a race for him or her that they could run a PR at, which race would you suggest? Tri-Cities, WA on a non-windy day.
What was the furthest you’ve ever traveled for a race? Miami
Do any of your non-running friends or family members think that you’re crazy for running as much as you do? What are some of their comments to you? Yes, they say that our bodies are going to fall apart!
If personal obligations or finances were not an issue, how many marathons would you run in one year? 52, one every weekend.
From what race did you receive your favorite finishers medal? Miami, by far.
Where do you keep your finisher medals? In shadow boxes
Do you wear your race t-shirts? What do you do with the ones you don’t wear? Yes! Some are great pj’s!
If you could put on a marathon anywhere in the world, where would you have it? I would like to put one on with my running partner in our town – we have a great training route –flat and fast!

What is your favorite pre race meal? Post race meal? Pre- Race: yogurt, toast, tea Post-Race: whatever sounds good!
What is your energy gel of choice? Sport drink of choice? GU Vanilla…..My hubby bought 40 on e-bay! Gatorade Rain
Which race would you never run again and why? Well, I’ll probably end up running it again because it’s close but I would say Seattle. Two days after Thanksgiving in snow or rain, freezing temperatures – it’s not my idea of fun!
What was the most challenging race or combination of races you’ve ever done and why? Portland 2007 – I quite counting bathroom stops after 15 in six miles. Not a good idea to run a marathon a month after have a huge chunk of my colon removed.
What is a typical training week like for you? How many miles do you run? Any cross training? I don’t have a typical week right now
Do you have a training partner? If so, who is it? Yes, Christie Hayes – wouldn’t be up at 5AM without her!
What kind of shoes do you train in? Do you race in a different shoe? Asics, Asics, Asics – love them
What are your short-term running goals? Keep running marathons
What are your long-term running goals? An ultra, the Tahoe triple, and to run 100 marathons by the time I’m 50.
Assuming you have time, what do you do for fun other than run marathons? Hang out with my family, teach Sunday School and other church activities, sit by the pool.
Who is your favorite Super Hero? Superman, Wonder Woman, Main Maniac (with cat on head) I don’t play favorites J
