Race Logistics:       In order to get the permit for use of the park, we will be utilizing the OUTER running loop around Green Lake – due to foot and bike traffic, the paved inside loop will not be available for this event.  Runners MUST travel counter-clockwise and stay either on the groomed path or to the road side of the path (certification rules to be will be on the inside part of the groomed path).  The course travels approximately 3.2 miles, and therefore to complete the 50K, runners will travel a bit under10 laps; the 100K will be just over 19 laps.  The 100K WILL BE CERTIFIED – the 50K certification may also be available. Check back for details.

Course Details:       This is a partially paved loop and has some sections that are gravel and “urban trail”, but overall is very flat. The course is designed for fast times and will be great for those who wish to use their time for qualification standards (i.e. US National team or Spartathalon).

For more details, see a map of the outside loop:

Course Aid:             There will be one fully stocked aid station, compliments of Road Runner Sports.  The aid station will be at the location of the 100K finish line.  There will be water, GU, Gu2O, Fruit, Pretzels, SaltStick Electrolyte Caps, PB&J, Coke, etc. etc. etc.

Pacers:                      100K racers: If you choose to use a pacer, please do not do so until after the 50K mark and be respectful of other runners who may be trying to pass.

Bathrooms:              There are three separate bathrooms around the loop.  IF you leave the course to use the facilities, you must go back to the spot where you left to course to resume running.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

Race Rules:

  • Please be aware that the trail is open to the public and therefore there will be other traffic – please be respectful of other people on the trail.  There will be signage around the lake to make people aware there is a race going on.
  • No cheating – cheaters never prosper… and besides that, they will be disqualified!
  • The Race Director reserves the right to remove a runner from the race at any time due to safety or health concerns. However, it is not the sole responsibility of the Race Director to monitor runners' well being. The runner has the primary responsibility for monitoring their own health.
  • No littering.
  • No aid outside of aid station – runners may carry their own, of course.
  • If you sign up for the 100K, and decide to stop at 50K, your name can be added to the results of the 50K.  If you chose to continue but drop, you will receive a DNF (unless you bring the Race Director coffee!!).
