Thanks again for putting this on. Nothing special on my part, but my dog, Oliver, had his first official 50k finish. I look forward to seeing the results and hearing your race report.

Still drying out.........
.......but I had a great deal of fun, thanks for putting on.
So, for me, it was a 50K PR by 4 minutes.
Recent 'big' race, was "Weymouth Woods 100K" in NC last weekend.
Thanks again, I really enjoyed it

Great race yesterday. Thanks for all your hard work in organizing the race. Yesterday was a PR for 50k and my birthday is today.
Thanks for putting on a great race yesterday. It was a blast in spite of the rain (it seems that Renton was the only place it rained yesterday) and having to run up that 10,000 foot mountain at then end (at least it seemed to be that tall).
Looking forward to the next event.

I just wanted to tell you that I had a super time at the race on Saturday. It was my very first 50K and I loved every step (almost) :) The Mt. Everest hill at the end was cruel and unusual punishment but I made it to the top and was still smiling!
Thank you and your volunteers for all of your hard work. I can't wait to do it again.

Thank you so much for putting this event on. It was the hardest day of my life, but I'm glad I did my first 50K with a group of Maniacs!
Thanks again!

Thanks Van. That was my third 50K and was a 16 minute PR. I got tired near the end but never really struggled. One of the best runs of my life as far as keeping a great attitude and feeling comfortable over such a long distance. My write up with a couple of pictures is here:

Look for 2011 updates in the Fall! Thank you.

****NOTE: NO EARLY START, SIGN UP REQUIRED, NOW SMALL RACE FEE
Date: Saturday, January 23, 2010
Start time: 7:30AM. (Sorry, decided not to have an early start. Too hard to keep track of everyone, especially with multiple loops. Please don’t ask me for an early start and make me say no. You should have plenty of company because of the loop course. Don’t worry about making me wait for you to finish, that’s what I’m there for. People were anxious to get started because of the cold in past years, but I recommend checking in and huddling in your car until starting time. Thanks for understanding!)
Check in: 6:45-7:25AM. Everyone must check in at the start.
Course: This is a 9.6 mile loop around the Lake Youngs Watershed. The terrain is rolling and a mixture of packed gravel, trail, and a very short section of road. The trail hugs the fence that goes around the watershed, so getting lost is not really a problem. If you have crossed a road, you have gone off course. There are mile marks on the fence along the trail but not sure how accurate they really are.
Distances:
9.6 miles=one loop
19.2 miles=2 loops
50K=3 loops and a 2.2 mile out and back (1.1 out and 1.1 back)
Drop bags: At the start/finish area for each loop. I will bring a tarp to put drop bags on but they will not be under cover.

Entry: Sign up is required on databarevents.com. Registration HERE <<< FREE - Please bring $5.00 to the start
Fee/Donation: $5 minimum at the start. I wanted to keep this a free event but am forced to charge a small fee to cover costs of a permit and liability insurance (required to obtain a permit). I still want this event to benefit the Maple Valley Food Bank and would like people to remember to bring non-perishable food items.
Aid stations: There will be only one aid station at the start/finish with water, Gatorade, soup and a few other things you might find at an ultra, such as potato chips, gummi bears, cookies, candy. If you would like to bring something to share, I’m sure you’ll find people who will eat it. Please bring your own gels, shot bloks, or fuel of choice. Everyone will be required to carry one water bottle minimum, unless you are only running one loop and feel comfortable going without any fluids for 9.6 miles.
Bathrooms: Last year there was one honey bucket at the start/finish of the loop. I’m not sure if budget cutbacks will mean that there will be no honey bucket there. The park bathrooms are closed for the winter. No bathrooms on the loop other than the woods.
Awards: First open, masters, and super masters (50+) male and female will either get sausage, bacon, or eggs from our farm.
Post race: Soup and anything you want to bring to share.
Directions and parking: Take exit 4 off I-405 to Maple Valley/Black Diamond/Enumclaw Hwy 169. Drive east several miles and take a right on 140th Way SE. Go up hill for about 2 miles and take a left on SE Petrovitsky Road. In about another 2 miles, turn right on Old Petrovitsky road. Parking lot is on the left in about a hundred yards. In previous years, parking has filled. Carpool if you can. There is parking on the road. I’m not sure if you can park in the church parking lot across the street, but I think people have in the past.
From Hwy 18, take the Maple Valley exit. If coming from Tacoma, take a left at end of off ramp, cross over 18, right on SE Petrovitsky road. If coming from Issaquah, take a right at end of off ramp and immediate right on SE Petrovitsky. For both after getting on Petrovitsky, drive about 3+ miles and take left on Old Petrovitsky Road. Parking is on the left.
See you soon!
