Maniac to run 200th Marathon in April

Maniac #3086 and Titanium level member Heather Zeigler is set to run her 200th Marathon on April 28th, 2019 at the London Marathon. Just like many Maniacs, Heather ran her first marathon and instantly became hooked, first with the goal of 50 marathons before turning 50, but when she quickly reached her goal she thought why stop there?

Heather’s favorite marathon was her first Boston Marathon. “I will always say that my first Boston marathon was one of my favorites. It took a LOT of work to get there and to be there after over 80 marathons and to finally feel like a good runner was extremely rewarding and emotional. I cried during that marathon too!” Marathons are emotional, we can only imagine how crossing the finish line of number 200 will feel for Heather. (www.cararuns.org)

We can not wait to celebrate with Heather as she reaches her 200th marathon goal this year! Wishing her the best of luck on her running journey.

13 year old Double Agent

13 year old Double Agent

Jason just completed the Houston Marathon, 1/20/18, which was his 3rd Marathon, 3rd State and his first as a Maniac/Double Agent. (Maniac #14570 & Fanatic #17131) He has completed 5 Half Marathons and 3 Full Marathons.

Jason’s running story begins when he was 4 and I was leaving to go run a Half Marathon. I was giving him a kiss goodbye and he started crying. He told me he thought he was running the race too. I bent down and looked in his eyes and said “when you are old enough, you can run with me.” I never expected him to run a marathon.

He started running 5k’s with me when he was 9. When he was 10, he started trying to sneak on my long runs and I finally let him. That was the beginning of him running long distance. Since he was running long runs with me, he decided to run a Half Marathon and ran his first at 11.

Jason says he started running to spend time with me. Jason has many hours to talk with me while we run and he enjoys the one on one time.  Jason's Racing. Marathon's HERE << Half Marathon's HERE <<
