Hyland's Healer Team Pick: Jaime Richard

This year Hyland, The Official Cramp Relief Sponsor of the Boston Marathon, has hand-selected 18 selfless health professionals from more than 500 applications from across America to celebrate. We would like to congratulate our own Maniac member #10384 Jamie Richard from Washington state who has been chosen to be on the Hyland's 2019 Boston Marathon Healer Team

Richard serves as a pediatric ER nurse as well as a hospital supervisor at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, WA. She has dedicated her life to improving children's health and says, "I absolutely love taking care of kids, it's the best job." She says that running has undoubtedly contributed positively to her professional life. “Running has given me self confidence in all areas of my life, especially at work,” she says. “Running has made me realize that I am a leader.”

In her eight years running, she has completed 29 marathon, three 50-mile races, and several 50Ks. This 2019 she will complete her forth Boston Marathon as a Healer. Richard comments, "I believe that being a runner and Healer go hand in hand, as Healers we always persevere."  Awesome job Jaime, you're such an inspiration to us all and we wish you the best of luck!

13 year old Double Agent

13 year old Double Agent

Jason just completed the Houston Marathon, 1/20/18, which was his 3rd Marathon, 3rd State and his first as a Maniac/Double Agent. (Maniac #14570 & Fanatic #17131) He has completed 5 Half Marathons and 3 Full Marathons.

Jason’s running story begins when he was 4 and I was leaving to go run a Half Marathon. I was giving him a kiss goodbye and he started crying. He told me he thought he was running the race too. I bent down and looked in his eyes and said “when you are old enough, you can run with me.” I never expected him to run a marathon.

He started running 5k’s with me when he was 9. When he was 10, he started trying to sneak on my long runs and I finally let him. That was the beginning of him running long distance. Since he was running long runs with me, he decided to run a Half Marathon and ran his first at 11.

Jason says he started running to spend time with me. Jason has many hours to talk with me while we run and he enjoys the one on one time.  Jason's Racing. Marathon's HERE << Half Marathon's HERE <<
