13 year old Double Agent

Jason just completed the Houston Marathon, 1/20/18, which was his 3rd Marathon, 3rd State and his first as a Maniac/Double Agent. (Maniac #14570 & Fanatic #17131) He has completed 5 Half Marathons and 3 Full Marathons.

Jason’s running story begins when he was 4 and I was leaving to go run a Half Marathon. I was giving him a kiss goodbye and he started crying. He told me he thought he was running the race too. I bent down and looked in his eyes and said “when you are old enough, you can run with me.” I never expected him to run a marathon.

He started running 5k’s with me when he was 9. When he was 10, he started trying to sneak on my long runs and I finally let him. That was the beginning of him running long distance. Since he was running long runs with me, he decided to run a Half Marathon and ran his first at 11.

Jason says he started running to spend time with me. Jason has many hours to talk with me while we run and he enjoys the one on one time.  Jason's Racing. Marathon's HERE << Half Marathon's HERE <<

Maniacs & Fanatics Pace Team

Back in August The Maniac Fanatic pace team was approached by Marine Corps Marathon to take on the task of pacing their Marathon. http://www.marinemarathon.com/ It was pretty short notice but we managed to fill all 11 pace time requests with 22 Marathon Maniacs and Half Fanatics.

We collaborated with MCM to add a new pace time to Beat the Bridge. If you didn’t make the cut off at mile 20 you would be diverted to an alternate course to the finish. Our Beat the Bridge pace team beat the bridge. Mission accomplished!

Special thanks to Andy Castaldi who stepped up to set up the MCM Pacing booth and pace the 3 hour group.

Congratulations to all the Marine Corps finishers!

The group had a successful run and we hope to be back next year.
